CARITAU GAME - Ajang penghargaan di industri game tertinggi di dunia, The Game Awards 2023 baru saja mengumumkan para pemenangnya. Berlangsung di the Peacock Theater, Los Angeles, California, Kamis (7/12/2023) waktu setempat, game Baldur's Gate 3 rilisan Larian Studios berhasil menjadi pemenang di kategori “Game of The Year”.


Pada The Game Awards 2023, Baldur’s Gate 3 berhasil menyisihkan para pesaingnya di kategori tersebut, yakni Alan Wake 2 (Remedy Entertainment), Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (Insomniac Games/SIE), Resident Evil 4 (Capcom), Super Mario Bros Wonder (Nintendo EPD/Nintendo), dan The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo EPD/Nintendo).


Laman The Game Awards telah membuka sesi voting untuk memilih nominator yang terbagi ke dalam puluhan kategori. Pemungutan suara dilakukan melalui laman Thegameawards.com.


The Game Awards adalah ajang pengakuan dan apresiasi terhadap kreativitas hingga keunggulan teknis di bidang video gim global. Pengakuan tersebut diberikan kepada kelompok pengembang gim, pemain gim, sampai berbagai jenama yang turut meramaikan dan memajukan dunia gim. Game Awards dipelopori pengusaha media, Geoff Keighley, pada 2014 lalu.


Indonesia juga mengirimkan satu perwakilannya, melalui "A Space for the Unbound" produksi Toge Productions dan Mojiken Studio, dalam kategori 'Games for Impact', yang mendorong platform gim untuk tak hanya menjadi hiburan, tetapi juga pemicu dampak dan perubahan positif.


Pada kategori tersebut, "A Space for the Unbound" bersaing dengan “Tchia” dari Kepler Interactive, Awaceb “Venba” (Visai Games), “Terra Nil” (Netflix, Devolver Digital, Free Lives), “Goodbye Volcano High” (KO_OP) hingga “Chants of Sennaar” (Focus Home Interactive). Kategori tersebut dimenangkan oleh “Tchia”. Meskipun tak membawa pulang piala, capaian tersebut tentu tetap membanggakan, lantaran "A Space for the Unbound" adalah satu-satunya game dan developer asal Indonesia yang masuk nominasi dalam ajang bergengsi tersebut.
